Twitter is a social media platform that allows you to read and share brief 140-character updates with other Twitter users. If you want to read and receive updates, also known as “tweets” from other Twitter users, you must follow those users. You can either find and follow Twitter users by name, or search for users who share your similar interests.
Method 1 of 2: Following Users by Name Search

If the profile you want to follow is not displayed within the search drop-down menu, click on “Search all people” to browse additional profiles belonging to users with that name.

5Click on the “Follow” button located below that user’s profile description. You will now be following that Twitter user, and their tweets will display in your Twitter timeline going forward.[2]
If there is a lock icon displayed to the right of a person’s Twitter name, then it means that the person’s tweets are protected. That particular Twitter user will need to approve your follow request before their tweets will show up in your Twitter timeline.

When you follow a user on Twitter, keep in mind that they may not be able to see your tweets unless they are following you as well.[4]
